Maestro Rich Acosta is the Chief Instructor of Kuntaw Kali Kruzada and Kruzada Kali Eskrima. He has 30 years experience in the martial arts including Kali Arnis/Eskrima, Kuntaw, Jujutsu, Karate and Aikido under the founder Grandmaster Rico Acosta. He has also received private training in the Philippines under some of the foremost experts of the Filipino martial arts such as Senior Grandmaster Vicente Sanchez (Kali Arnis International Federation), Grandmaster Samuel Bambit Dulay (IMAFP Modern Arnis) and Grandmaster Jose G. Mena (Doblete Rapelon Arnis). He has also trained under Pantas Maestro Louelle Lledo (Amara Arkanis FMA Education) in the U.S.
Maestro Rich Acosta has been teaching the Filipino Martial Arts in New York City since 1996. He received separate promotions to the rank of Master in the Filipino Martial Arts by Grandmaster Rico Acosta, and Pantas Maestro Louelle Lledo, and in December 2015 he was promoted to the rank of Grandmaster in Kali Arnis under Senior Grandmaster Vicente Sanchez. He is a three-time Hall of Fame inductee (UFOMA, Action Martial Arts Magazine & Who's Who International) who has been featured in the New York Times, Filipino Martial Arts Digest and various martial arts books. He is the Director of New York for Sword Stick Society International; a Filipino and Chinese martial arts association. He also serves as an official Advisor for the United Fellowship of Martial Artists (UFOMA) and Kapatiran Mandirigma; a brotherhood of Filipino and Indonesian martial artists.
Maestro Rich Acosta produced a video series on the Kuntaw Kali Kruzada system, and he is currently writing a book on the Filipino Martial Arts. He is also actively teaching group classes, Instructor training programs and seminars to help promote the Filipino Martial Arts Internationally.
